The Power of Love

The kitchen looked like a war zone. I was completely covered in every known form of made from scratch cake mix. We ran out of butter, eggs and at 1:00 we were completely sold out, so I started all over again. Dearest friends and husbands were icing cupcakes and putting boxes together. I don't remember breathing, drinking or eating, but I do remember laughing and immense gratitude. Today, Friday the 15th of January, all of our walk-in cupcake sales went to the Red Cross to benefit Haiti. Because of you, Lexington, and our amazing cupcake patrons, we were able to raise $531.00 dollars based on $2.00 a piece cupcakes. My heart swells to the point of breaking. We posted our intentions late last night on Facebook, Twitter and our BabyCakes Cupcakes webpage and you all answered the call. It is now midnight and the peace that I feel is not describable. Some people say that our way of life is corrupt or that people have lost focus of the true meaning of life. I say that humanity is shining at its best right now. We just need to be given the chance to show it from time to time. Thank you sweet people. Thank you for my exhaustion, thank you for your smiling faces today, thank you for your generosity, thank you for your unconditional love and thank you for supporting people who have no means to support themselves. I have cried tears of joy today and I am proud to have met each of you. My life was so enriched from opening our cupcake shoppe, but today the support overwhelms me. We donate this money in each of your names. It wasn't us that made this day perfect. It was each of you that took time out of your day to buy a cupcake. Me saying thank you does not cover this, so I will say blessings to each of you and your families. As always, Keith and I send our love out to you along with peace.

You all made this day absolutely perfect.

This is beautiful. And amazing. I'm only saddened that I didn't know about the event. :( Thanks for what you've done. :)
